FAQs

What is Home Assembly?

Pairing art objects with recipes and seasonal ingredients—prepped by one of the world’s most renowned chefs and her team—Home Assembly gathers artists, chefs, and a celebrated DJ to craft a series of rich evenings of cooking and culture to be completed and shared at home. Activating our most essential domestic rituals both poetically and culturally, the series is designed as an immersive and interactive evening for all levels of home cooks.

Home Assembly is simple! Think of it as a home cooking series in which chefs, artists, and a DJ have all come together to choreograph a special evening for you and a loved one. Simply purchase Meal Kit 1and book a pick up day and time that is convenient for you via our booking system. Meal Kit pick ups occur at n/naka, centrally located in Los Angeles, where the beautiful ingredients are lovingly prepared by Chef Niki Nakayama and her wonderful team.

How does it work?

The first Home Assembly Meal Kit is available for purchase now, with pick-ups at n/naka available beginning November 5 and running through January 15. Patrons will receive a link to a unique booking page upon purchase, where they can select a preferred pick up day and time. They will then have the option to add beverages, selected by n/naka especially for this menu, and to offer gratuity directly to n/naka’s team.

What does it cost?

The cost of Meal Kit 1 is $175 plus tax. For this price you will receive recipes and ingredients to feed 2 people, a limited edition artwork, and a playlist by Liza Richardson! All to support Active Cultures, an organization dedicated to the artistic exploration of culture and foodways.
